What is shared hosting?

Shared hosting is the most popular web hosting service in the world. It is a cost-effective way to host a website and is mostly used for personal and small to medium businesses who do not require a more dedicated service such as a VPS or dedicated server.

As shown in the name, shared hosting is where your website shares a physical server with many other websites. So rather than your website having its own dedicated server, it shares one server’s resources with many others.

Here at Hosteology, we use Cloudlinux OS to manage our shared hosting accounts, meaning each account has its own set of dedicated resources even though they are sharing the server with other users.
